COMPANY HISTORY
HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
The Hanhart watch factory was founded in 1882 in Diessenhofen, Switzerland by Wilbelm Julius Hanhart. Among the first products of the company were wristwatches, pocket watches, and chronographs. However, the real break through for the company came in 1939, when Hanhart first introduced a high quality pilot's chronograph. After the end of World War II, the production was dismantled by the Allies. In 1948 chronograph was produced again for the French army. In 1962 the decision was made to stop the production of pilot's chronograph and company began to concentrate on hand-held electronic and mechanical stopwatches alond with quartz watches and clocks. In 1997 Hanharts administration and production were combined in the German town of Gutenbach in the Black Forest, where the famous Hanhart stopwatches were produced since 1924. After that Hanhart produced 2,500 replicas of it's original pilot's chronograph.
